The portability of cloud computing opens up opportunities for mobile working for businesses, according to BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.
The organisation suggested that the modern system, which involves using internet-based systems and storing data online, can provide greater portability for employees and consumers.
Zahl Limbuwala, chartered fellow of BCS and chair of its data storage specialist group, said: “Cloud can offer potentially a greater portability of data for employees and consumers of IT services, meaning data can be accessed not just within the office, but outside the office on mobile devices at home and while abroad.”
He added that if properly implicated, cloud computing could have a benefit in terms of time-to-market, for companies which need to perform operations rapidly.
