When it comes to going green, being environmentally friendly at the office is often the last thing on our minds, with most of us preferring to focus on our home lives. We’ll leave the office environment to the boss to sort out.
But a new survey has found that the majority of workers in office space in Milton Keynes and the rest of the UK have no confidence in their managers to take the reins and go green at work, Call Centre Helper reported.
In fact, the YouGov research showed that only 17 per cent of staff would consider their office space to be very or completely green. More than a quarter of respondents said that their workplace was not very green at all.
Cost was one of the main factors contributing to the lack of green-thinking, the survey showed, as well as a shortage of education and a lack of encouragement.
The survey was completed in advance of Green Office Week, which will take place from May 9 until May 13.
The annual initiative aims to encourage offices to think about the environmental impact of their behaviour and do a bit more to become greener.
