When it comes to annoying the boss in a shared office, sloppy work and a lack of attention to detail will do it every time.
In a recent survey by Accountemps, 41 per cent of employers said that this was the thing that irritated them most about their workforce. Gossiping and getting involved in office politics was also high on the list of annoyances, with 23 per cent saying they found that sort of behaviour annoying.
Accountemps chairman Mark Messmer said: “Having to constantly double-check someone else’s work is a sure recipe for tension between co-workers. The success of any team depends on everyone carrying his or her weight.”
Missing deadlines, perpetual lateness and plagiarising other people’s ideas were also noted as things which annoyed respondents.
